As a child growing up in Houston, Texas, I enjoyed digging in the dirt and building tunnels for my toy Hot Wheels. I could spend hours creating “networks” in my backyard. With natural elements such as bricks, sticks and stones, I would construct multilevel, multi-entry point “sites” made of clay dirt.
There was nothing more rewarding than inviting my neighborhood friends over to play in my “dirt cities.” Watching the smiles and seeing how much fun my friends had driving their cars and trucks in and out the tunnels I had created, was the spark to ignite my passion for “building networks.”
When I look back over the last 30 years of my life, I see moments where my strengths: Ideation, Individualization, Strategy, Learner, and Belief have guided me to a successful and rewarding career and personal life. Some talents and abilities are simply embedded in our DNA.
As Chief Ideation Officer of Catalyst Consultant Group LLC, I consult with a wide array of small businesses and non-profits. I enjoy the challenge of helping businesses leverage technology to build digital networks based on real world relationships. Many times my role is to connect the communication lines (tunnels) of traditional media with new forms of digital technologies and social networking sites.
